Many people new to self-hosting their services may turn to their e-mail to mark their next step in digital independence. Great, but how do you do this safely and securely? What software should you use, Roundcube or Rainloop? Docker, Yunohost, or live life on the edge?

Well, you've come to the right place. This is the only guide you'll need to set up your very own e-mail and webmail server.

Step 1: Don't.
